When all ends fails, we are never out of choices, perhaps alternatives; but there usually is a way out. ‘Lanrenny

                  THE FUTURE FROM BEHIND
It is with great sense of honor that I sincerely want to appreciate everyone that has taking time out to be on this platform. I believe that it is the hunger and thirst for personal and national development that has driven you to be part of this. My hope is that together we burn the torch that lightens the path of our liberty from the jaws of humans with errors, especially for the sake of our unborn generations. I celebrate you.

It is a fact that our society today has become a place where frivolity is the order of the day, and this has so much engulfed the human existence to a height of perversion, especially in the various facets of life; such as, Culture, Religion, Politics, and Entertainment etc., all of which have earned the interests of many. And yet, has encapsulated us as a people with many questions begging to be answered.

If the government cannot save her citizens, where do they turn for solace? If the leaders of the various religious sects to whom so many people look up to, fail to portray good example of leadership, yet, criticize the leadership of our government; who is to fault?

I believe you would agree with me that the prevailing situation in our nation is bad. Corruption, insecurity, increasing rate of unemployment, high level of both mental and financial poverty, and especially poor leadership and management of our resources etc. are major contributors to her under-development. Indeed, it’s no gain-saying to conclude that we are grown as a nation, yet lack development. But shall we sit and watch our heritage fall to ruin?  Where is the change we crave to bring about a permanent solution to all of our cries? All of these have come to define the way the world around sees us as people and a nation.

However, it’s said that “Education is the best legacy”, but what is a legacy without relevance especially in our part of the world? If it is true that education is key to national development, it is therefore painful to admit that our educational system with the large turnout of graduates produced by our schools have had little or no impact in our nation.

I make bold to say that, though our young generation of people are no less without faults, as they have become consumed with the wrongs and incompetence of our leaders, such that their energies of a good sense of thought, values and effective use of their minds towards self-improvement and societal relevance, have become outweighed with a need for rage, violence and societal degeneration. We are quick to accord blames, which brings to light, the words of John Fitzgerald Kennedy, “Let us not seek to fix the blame for the past. Let us accept our responsibility for the future”.

Thus, in the quest for a better world, having watched with keen interest, the red-signs and Hallucinations of the various practices of power tussle, prejudice, denial, religious conflicts and the effects of natural disasters; I urge us to use the experiences to our advantage and help in the building process of a society that is competent enough to accommodate errors, yet encourage standards that promotes economic development.

Bearing in mind that, the way we react to all we see happening around us today goes a long way in determining our future. And since no one has ever harmed their eyesight by looking at the bright side of life, let us soar higher into our possible realities through a shift in our minds. Such that allows us to dream without limitations and helps us define our visions in a clear picture of what we truly desire of life. There is no nation without us, and certainly we are an integral part in the branding process towards nation building. Let us hold fast unto a belief system that guarantees that no matter what goes wrong; we will keep trailing the right path with a right attitude. Keep breathing because you are the reason we exist in a world of our own.
